It's been way too long since the initial sketch so I'm just going to make another post. I picked the file up from deep within my hard drive, blew the collected dust from it, and made it less rough looking. That's a lot of details...I'm so not looking forward to inking that.
Should prolly start on this whole scholarship deal, even though it's a bit (ok, really) late. Here's my entry for "Mirror, Mirror". The idea of this theme is to challenge the idea of conventional beauty. Here's my interpretation: a young woman suffering from cancer, stripped of her hair yet she is still stunning in her own way. bald luv by ~yummy-twinkie on deviantART
I was invited to participate in an anime art book project. The theme is 'First'. I tried to stay away from something generic so I ended up with this...some kind of 'first' encounter between a man and a pond mermaid...*nervous laugh*. I have tried other concepts but this one nags at me the most. And I have less than a week to complete it...oh dear.
I am open for suggestions. Make it quick though cause I'm planning on coloring this soon. Got bored of first concept/realized it has perspective problems, moving on to this one. Better composition. And have 4 days to complete...shit. happy with the transparent cocoon. need to fix colors... Dead line extended, change of color scheme/pose/expression/atmosphere. Much better :3 For the first time I'm actually excited about working on this pic. The wings were cropped and pasted on from a stock photo for composition sake, will be painted later, same goes for cheap custom leaf brush. <.<
Working on clothing designs and whatnot. I've been drawing naked bodies for so long that laying down clothes has proven to be a strenuous task. Nevertheless I welcome the obstacle; clothes do make a pic much more interesting...believe it or not.
Now that the zodiac series is finally completed, what's there to do but-go back and redo the older pieces. Yes, that's right. I am that bored and uninspired.
